Nostepende or nostepinne is a tool used by fiber artists to wind yarn into a center pull ball, allowing the knitter to remove the working yarn from the center rather than the outside. By winding your yarn onto the nostepende, it allows you to control the tension and visually inspect the yarn for possible defects or knots as you’re winding.
Brazilian Cherry found in Central America, southern Mexico, northern South America and West Indies. The heartwood varies from a light orange brown to a darker reddish brown with contrasting darker grayish brown streaks. Color tends to darken with exposure to light.
